IN THE MATTER OF SYNCHRONIZING THE REGISTRATION WORK WEEK SCHEDULE OF ALL FIELD OFFICES IN CONNECTION WITH THE RESUMPTION OF THE SYSTEM OF CONTINUING REGISTRATION OF VOTERS, VALIDATION AND UPDATING OF REGISTRATION RECORDS FOR THE MAY 9, 2016 NATIONAL AND LOCAL ELECTIONS
WHEREAS, in its Resolution No. 9853 dated February 19, 2014, the Commission on Elections (Commission) adopted a Sunday to Thursday registration work week schedule for all field offices in the conduct of registration, validation and updating of registration, validation and updating of registration in connection with the resumption of the system of continuing registration of voters from May 6, 2014 to October 31, 2015;
WHEREAS, the said Resolution likewise provides the authority of the Commission to adjust or suspend the registration period when necessary;
WHEREAS, due to the low turn-out of registration, validation and updating of records during Sundays, the Commisison issued Resolution No. 9889 dated August 02, 2014, modifying the registration work week schedule from Sunday to Thursday to Monday to Friday effective August 18, 2014, except in the National Capital Region and other highly urbanized cities;
WHEREAS, there is need to synchronize the work week registration of all field offices in preparation for the May 09, 2016 National and Local Elections.
NOW THEREFORE, by virtue of the power vested in it by the Constitution of the Republic of the Philippines, R.A. No. 9189, R.A. No. 10367, and other related registration laws and resolution, the Commission on Elections RESOLVES to modify the registration work week schedule of all field offices in the National Capital Region and Highly Urbanized Cities into Monday to Friday. with overtime services during Saturdays and Holidays effective September 01, 2015.
