Resolution No. 9898

WHEREAS, Section 5 of Resolution No. 9853 (RULES AND REGULATIONS ON THE RESUMPTION OF THE SYSTEM OF CONTINUING REGISTRATION OF VOTERS, VALIDATION AND UPDATING OF REGISTRATION RECORDS FOR THE MAY 9, 2016 SYNCHRONIZED NATIONAL, LOCAL AND ARMM REGIONAL ELECTIONS AND OTHER REGISTRATION POLICIES), allows the setting - up satellite registration offices in commercial establishments and other public places within the city/municipality to ensure wider voter participation;

WHEREAS, in line with the foregoing provision, the Commission in Minute Resolution No. 14 - 0500 [IN THE MATTER OF THE DRAFT MEMORANDUM OF AGREEMENT (MOA) BETWEEN THE COMELEC AND ROBINSONS LAND CORPORATION FOR THE SETTING - UP OF COMELEC REGISTRATION BOOTH AT ROBINSONS MALL LINGKOD PINOY CENTER (RMLPC)] resolved to approved the MOA between COMELEC and Robinsons Land Corporation, for the setting - up of registration booth at the RMLPC which shall run from September 1, 2014 until October 31, 2015. The MOA was signed on August 18, 2014;

WHEREAS, the Commission together with the representative of Robinsons Land Corporation, will hold a launching ceremony on September 06, 2014 (Saturday) at 10:00 o'clock in the morning, at the following selected venue;

WHEREAS, September 06, 2014, falls on a Saturday, and is therefore outside the modified work - week schedule, of COMELEC NCR employees who are participants in the said event. On the said date, concerned NCR employees are allowed to render overtime services from 8:00 o'clock in the morning to 5:00 o'clock in the afternoon;

NOW, THEREFORE, the Commission pursuant to the powers vested in it by the Constitution, the Omnibus Election Code, Republic Act No. 8189 and other related election laws, RESOLVED, as it hereby RESOLVES, to:

1. APPROVE the launching ceremony for the setting - up of COMELEC registration booth at RMLPC on September 06, 2014, at 10:00 o'clock in the morning;
2. ALLOW the concerned COMELEC NCR employees listed in the hereto attached matrix, to render overtime services on the said date, from 8:00 o'clock in the morning to 5:00 o'clock in the afternoon; and
3. DIRECT the following Department to:
   
   1. Information Technology Department - configure the Voter's Registration Machines (VRMs) to be utilized and publish the launching of COMELEC registration booth at RMLPC, at the website of the Commission
   2. Administrative Services Department - provide and assist in the transpiration of COMELEC personnel, VRMs forms and supplies; and
   3. Election and Barangay Affairs Department - monitor and provide operational assistance in the conduct of the satellite registration.

Let the Education and Information Department, Information Technology Department, Administrative Services Department, Election and Barangay Affairs Department, Personnel Department and the Finance Services Department, implement this Resolution

The Education and Information Department shall cause the publication of this Resolution in two (2) daily newspapers of general circulation in the Philippines.
