IN THE MATTER OF AMENDING RESOLUTION NO. 9443
WHEREAS, the Commission promulgated on June 8, 2012 Resolution No. 9443 entitled SUSPENSION OF THE SYSTEM OF CONTINUING REGISTRATION OF VOTERS AND VALIDATION OF REGISTRATION RECORDS IN SUCH AREAS AS MAY BE DETERMINED BY THE COMMISSION, suspending the conduct of registration of voters and validation of registration records beginning June 25, 2012 to July 31, 2012, in the cities and municipalities where the personnel and registration equipment will be deployed in ARMM areas;
WHEREAS, in said Resolution the Commission resolved to reset the July 15, 2012 ERB hearing to August 20, 2012 for the approval/disapproval of applications for registration, transfer, transfer with reactivation, reactivation, correction/ change of entries and reinstatement in the Book of Voters received from April 1, 2012 to June 14,2012, the latter date being erroneously entered;
WHEREAS, on the basis of the structural requirement of registration equipments and personnel to be deployed in the ARMM areas, all the cities and municipalities in the non-ARMM areas are affected by such deployment.
NOW THEREFORE, the Commission RESOLVED, as it hereby RESOLVES, to amend Paragraphs 6 and 7 of Resolution 9443 to read as follows:
"xxx to suspend the conduct registration of voters and validation of registration records from June 25, 2012 to July 31, 2012 in all cities and municipalities nationwide.
"RESOLVED further, that in the aforementioned areas all applications for registration, transfer, transfer with reactivation, reactivation, change/ correction of entries, inclusion of record in the Book of Voters and Reinstatement of Name in the List of Voters received from April 2, 2012 to June 23,2012 shall be heard in the Election Registration Board (ERB) hearing scheduled on August 20,2012. Hence, no ERB hearing shall be conducted on July 16, 2012 in the areas concerned."
Let the Deputy Executive Director for Operations and Election and Barangay Affairs Department implement this Resolution.
