COMELEC to hold pre-'Walkah-Walkah' activity in Batangas

Commission on Elections (COMELEC) spokesman James Jimenez today announced that the COMELEC office in the Province of Batangas will be holding a walkathon on Saturday, April 26, 2014 to promote the upcoming resumption of continuing voter registration.

The walkathon in Batangas, which will be participated by one hundred twelve (112) employees of COMELEC, is part of build-up activities for the "Walkah-Walkah: Step Juan para sa Mulat na Botante" a Luzon-wide walking expedition, that will start from Laoag in Ilocos Norte and will end in Matnog in Sorsogon to drumbeat the poll body's call for all qualified citizens to register as voters and submit to biometric registration.

"WALKAH-WALKAH: Step Juan Tungo sa Mulat na Botante" which will be headed by Jimenez, will step-off in Laoag City on May 6, 2014, coinciding with the start of voter registration. ###
