COMELEC Reminds the Public: Today is the Last Day of Registration, No Extension

Date: 30 November 2017

The Commission on Elections announces that today is the last day of voter registration, and that there will be no extension. All field offices nationwide are open to accept applications from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, in spite of the national holiday.

Longer queues are to be expected as the public rush to file their applications on the last day. The COMELEC appeals to the public to exercise extraordinary patience and understanding.

The system of continuing registration resumed on November 6, 2017 and ends today, November 30, 2017. Local COMELEC offices have been open from Mondays to Saturdays, even on holidays to accept applications for registration, for reactivation, and for change/correction of entries/inclusion of record in the book of voters and reinstatement of name in the list of voters. No applications for transfer of registration or for reactivation with transfer will be processed.

Applicants with ages ranging from 15 to 17 years may register as voters for the Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) elections, while those who are 18 years old and above may register as regular voters.

Some offsite registration events are also being conducted today. But in most cities and municipalities the public is advised to proceed to the Office of the Election Officer in their city or municipality. Schedules and venues for satellite registration today can be found on the COMELEC Facebook page (www.facebook.com/comelec.ph) and Twitter account (@COMELEC).
