The Commission on Elections received a total of 490,892 applications for registration for a period of nine weeks from November 2016 to January 2017 during the ongoing satellite registration of voters nationwide.
In all regions, with the exception of Cotabato City and Isabela City, there were 81,318 applications received from regular registrants, 72,745 applications from Sangguniang Kabataan, 1,636 from Persons with Disability, 6,278 from Senior Citizens, and 801 from Indigenous Peoples for the months of November and December 2016.
During the conduct of satellite registration in the same period, 122,558 Voter's identification cards were also released through the Election Officers.
Comelec Resolution 10166 mandates Election Officers to intensify the conduct of satellite registration at least twice or more whenever necessary in every barangay and establish satellite offices for the reception of applications for registration, transfer, reactivation, correction/change, reinstatement and inclusion of records in the list of voters.
The resumption of the system of continuing registration started last November 7, 2016 and will end on April 29, 2017. Applications will be received at the Offices of the Election Officer from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Mondays to Saturdays, including holidays, except on April 13 and 14, 2017.###
