COMELEC to Prioritize Women on March 8 Special Registration

The Commission on Elections will conduct a voters' special satellite registration prioritizing qualified women and girls on March 8, 2017 from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM in the National Capital Region and other highly urbanized cities outside the NCR in celebration of the National Women's Month.

The areas covered in Comelec Resolution No. 10175 are the 16 cities and 1 municipality in NCR, Cotabato City, Baguio City, Butuan City, Dagupan City, Santiago City, Angeles City, Olongapo City, Lucena City, Puerto Princesa City, Naga City, Bacolod City, Iloilo City, Cebu City, Mandaue City, Lapu-Lapu City, Tacloban City, Ormoc City, Zamboanga City, Cagayan de Oro City, Iligan City, Davao City, General Santos City.

All concerned Offices of the Election Officer (OEOs) are tasked to create a special satellite registration team composed of the EO and at least four Election Assistants, if possible, and to identify an accessible and convenient venue for the conduct of the satellite registration where qualified residents will be accommodated.

As per the Resolution which was promulgated on February 27, 2017, the Commission designates a full day of voter registration where women and girl applicants are prioritized in recognition of the vital role of women as partners in the pursuit of the economic, social, cultural and political development pursuant to the mandate of the Magna Carta of Women under Republic Act No. 9710.

Applications for Registration, Transfer/Transfer with Reactivation, Reactivation, Change/Correction of Entries, and Supplemental Data Form (Persons with Disability, Indigenous People, Senior Citizens) will be received.###
