The Commission on Elections lauded their field employees for defying the odds just to be able to conduct satellite voter's registration.
Chairman Bautista expressed his gratitude to Ms. Riza Jadlong Distrajos, Evelyn Adobo, and the rest of their team from Hinabangan, Samar who bravely crossed a swollen river so that senior citizens in far-flung areas will be able to participate in the registration process. The Comelec Chairman said that their modern-day heroism is a proof of how the Commission continues to guard and promote the exercise of democratic rights.
Comelec Employees' Union (Comelec-EU) Mark Christopher Ramirez said that Comelec field personnel cross raging rivers and trek difficult terrains to ensure an inclusive electoral process where everyone qualified will be able to exercise their right to vote. Ramirez hopes that their efforts will inspire people to do their shared part in upholding the Filipino people's right to suffrage.
The Comelec is conducting mandatory satellite registrations in every barangay nationwide, including areas where there are IPs, IPDs, PWDs, and detainees, to ensure wider voter participation among these groups. ####
