Resolution No. 9966

WHEREAS, on April 14, 2015, the Commission promulgated Resolution No. 9960, entitled "GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE BOARD OF ELECTION INSPECTORS (BEI) ON THE CASTING AND COUNTING OF VOTES IN CONNECTION WITH THE MAY 08, 2015 RECALL ELECTIONS FOR MAYOR IN THE CITY OF PUERTO PRINCESA, PALAWAN, PURSUANT TO COMELEC RESOLUTION NO. 15-0284 DATED 07 APRIL 2015";

WHEREAS, Section 1, last paragraph thereof reads:

"The Commission may, in the exigency of service and upon recommendation of the Regional Election Director IV and DepEd, call upon trainees of the Philippine National Police (PNP) to serve as BEIs in case of failure of public school teachers or their substitutes to serve as such on election day."

NOW, THEREFORE, the Commission pursuant to the powers vested in it by the Constitution, the Omnibus Election Code, and other related election laws, RESOLVED, as it hereby RESOLVES, to AMEND said paragraph to read as follows:

"The Commission may, in the exigency of service and upon recommendation of the Regional Election Director of Region IV and DepEd, call upon personnel of the Philippine National Police (PNP) to serve as BEIs in case of failure of public school teachers or their substitutes to serve as such on election day."

Let the Office of the Deputy Executive Director for Operations (ODEDO) implement this Resolution. The Education and Information Department shall cause the publication of this Resolution in two (2) daily newspapers of general circulation in the Philippines.

This Resolution is effective immediately after publication.
