IN THE MATTER OF CLARIFYING THE USE OF AVAILABLE FORMS AND SUPPLIES FOR THE CONDUCT OF THE MAY 08, 2015 RECALL ELECTIONS FOR MAYOR OF PUERTO PRINCESA CITY, PALAWAN, AS AUTHORIZED IN RESOLUTION NO. 9942 DATED APRIL 07, 2015
WHEREAS, in preparation for the May 08, 2015 recall elections for Mayor of Puerto Princesa City, Palawan, the Commission on Elections (Commission) promulgated Resolution No. 9942 dated April 07, 2015, prescribing the calendar of activities and periods of certain prohibited acts in connection with the said recall elections;
WHEREAS, in the same Resolution, the Commission authorized "all departments and officials of the Commission to use all forms and supplies acquired and set aside for the original scheduled 28 October 2013 Sangguniang Kabataan Election without need of further action and UTILIZE all excess and available forms and supplies from the 13 May 2013 National and Local Elections, the 28 October 2013 Barangay Elections, and other past elections, for purposes of the 08 May 2015 Recall Elections for Mayor in Puerto Princesa City, Palawan;
WHEREAS, the literal meaning and wordings of the authorization might cause confusion on its scope, extent and application;
NOW THEREFORE, after due deliberation, the Commission, by virtue of the powers vested in it by the Constitution, the Omnibus Election Code and other election laws, hereby RESOLVES to clarify that in connection with the abovementioned authorization, any and all reference to the "October 28, 2013 Barangay Elections," "the May 13, 2013 National, Local and ARMM Elections", and the "October 25, 2010 Barangay Elections", or their conceptual equivalents are to be read and understood as the "May 08, 2015 Recall Election for Mayor of Puerto Princesa City, Palawan".
