REQUEST FOR THE CONCURRENCE OF THE PRESIDENT OF THE REPUBLIC OF THE PHILIPPINES IN THE DEPUTATION OF THE ARMED FORCES OF THE PHILIPPINES (AFP), AND THE PHILIPPINE NATIONAL POLICE (PNP) IN CONNECTION WITH THE 05 MAY 2018 RECALL ELECTIONS FOR MAYOR OF CABADBARAN CITY, AGUSAN DEL NORTE, PURSUANT TO COMELEC RESOLUTION NO. 10274, DATED 27 MARCH 2018
WHEREAS, in the interest of free, orderly, honest, peaceful and credible conduct of the 05 May 2018 Recall Elections for Mayor in Cabadbaran City, Agusan del Norte pursuant to COMELEC Resolution No. 10274 dated 27 March 2018, the Commission on Elections finds it necessary to deputize law enforcement agencies and other instrumentalities of the government, including the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) and the Philippine National Police (PNP);
WHEREAS, under Section 2, (4) c, Article IX, of the Constitution of the Republic of the Philippines, such deputation requires the concurrence of the President of the Republic of the Philippines;
NOW, THEREFORE, the Commission on Elections RESOLVED, as it hereby RESOLVES, to request the concurrence of the President of the Republic of the Philippines in the deputation of law enforcement agencies and other instrumentalities of the government, including the AFP and the PNP, in connection with the 05 May 2018 Recall Elections for Mayor in Cabadbaran City, Agusan del Norte;
The Executive Director is hereby directed to furnish His Excellency, Rodrigo Roa Duterte, President of the Republic of the Philippines, through the Honorable Executive Secretary, Malacañang Palace, a copy of this Resolution.
