IN THE MATTER OF THE REQUEST FROM THE PARISH PASTORAL COUNCIL FOR RESPONSIBLE VOTING (PPCRV) FOR AUTHORITY TO CONDUCT VOTERS' EDUCATION AND TO MONITOR THE RECALL ELECTION IN PALAWAN
This pertains to the Letter dated April 20, 2015 of Amb. Henrietta T. De Villa, National Chairperson, Parish Pastoral Council for Responsible Voting (PPCRV), as referred by Acting Chairman Christian Robert S. Lim, requesting authority to conduct voter's education and to monitor the Recall Election in Palawan.
The Letter of Amb. De Villa addressed to Acting Chairman Lim reads:
"Warm greetings.
This has reference to the recall election in Palawan on May 8, 2015. PPCRV is seeking authorization from your office to allow us to conduct voters' education and to monitor the conduct of election on that day. Further, as Comelec's Citizen's Arm for pollwatching, may we use the PPCRV Pollwatchers I.D. for the 2013 elections? We have already gathered and instructed about 100 PPCRV volunteers to act as Pollwatchers for the recall election in Palawan. In view of the nearness of the polls, I'm requesting for your urgent consideration of our above requests.
In anticipation of your usual kind action, I'm enclosing our prayerful thanks."
The Commission RESOLVED, as it hereby RESOLVES, to grant the foregoing requests of the Parish Pastoral Council for Responsible Voting (PPCRV) in connection with the May 8, 2015 Recall Election in Palawan, as follows:
- To conduct a voter's education in Palawan;
- To monitor the conduct of said Recall Election and
- To use their PPCRV Pollwatchers I.D. for the May 13, 2013 National and Local Elections while conducting the above-mentioned activities.
RESOLVED, moreover, to give the sixth (6th) copy of the election returns to PPCRV.
Let the Deputy Executive Director for Operations implement this Resolution.
