REQUEST FOR THE CONCURRENCE OF THE PRESIDENT OF THE REPUBLIC OF THE PHILIPPINES IN THE DEPUTATION OF THE PHILIPPINE NATIONAL POLICE (PNP), AND OTHER LAW ENFORCEMENT AGENCIES, FOR THE PURPOSE OF ENSURING FREE, ORDERLY, HONEST, PEACEFUL AND CREDIBLE CONDUCT OF THE JUNE 30, 2012 PLEBISCITE TO RATIFY THE CONVERSION OF THE MUNICIPALITY OF IMUS IN THE PROVINCE OF CAVITE INTO A COMPONENT CITY PURSUANT TO R.A. 10161 DATED APRIL 10, 2012.

WHEREAS, in the interest of free, orderly, honest, peaceful and credible conduct of the June 30, 2012 Plebiscite to ratify the conversion of the Municipality of Imus in the Province of Cavite into a component city, pursuant to Republic Act No. 10161, approved on April 10, 2012, the Commission on Elections finds it necessary to deputize the Philippine National Police (PNP), and other law enforcement agencies and instrumentalities;

WHEREAS, under Section 2 (4) (C), Article IX, of the Constitution of the Republic of the Philippines, such deputation requires the concurrence of the President of the Republic of the Philippines;

NOW, THEREFORE, the Commission on Elections RESOLVED to request, as it hereby RESOLVES to request, the concurrence of the President of the Republic of the Philippines in the Deputation of the Philippine National Police (PNP), other law enforcement agencies, in connection with the conduct of the abovementioned plebiscite.

The Executive Director is hereby directed to furnish His Excellency, the President of the Republic of the Philippines, through the Honorable Executive Secretary, Malacañang Palace, Manila, a copy of this Resolution.
