IN THE MATTER OF THE CANVASS AND PROCLAMATION OF THE THREE REMAINING
DULY ELECTED SENATORS OF THE REPUBLIC OF THE PHILIPPINES
IN CONNECTION WITH THE FIRST NATIONWIDE AUTOMATED
NATIONAL AND LOCAL ELECTIONS HELD ON MAY 10, 2010.
WHEREAS, the Commission on Elections, sitting en banc as the National Board of Canvassers for the election of Senators of the Republic of the Philippines and Party List, officially canvassed in open and public proceedings the votes cast for Senators in connection with the first nationwide automated national and local elections held on May 10, 2010, and proclaimed the first nine (9) winning candidates for Senator on May 15, 2010;
WHEREAS, except for the provincial certificate of canvass for the Province of Lanao del Sur, and the uncanvassed votes in some areas which lowered the canvassing threshold, the remaining votes that have not yet been received by the canvassing and consolidated system of the National Board of Canvassers will not materially affect the votes obtained by the tenth up to the twelfth ranking winning candidates for Senator.
NOW, THEREFORE, by virtue of the powers vested in it under the Constitution, the Omnibus Election Code (Batas Pambansa Blg. 881), Republic Acts Numbered 9369, 8436, 7166, 6646, and other election laws, the Commission on Elections sitting en banc as the National Board of Canvassers hereby PROCLAIMS elections held on May 10, 2010, to serve for a term of six (6) years, beginning on June 30, 2010, in accordance with Article VI, Section IV of the Constitution of the Republic of the Philippines:
