IN THE MATTER OF THE DESIGNATION OF THE CHAIRPERSON FOR THE COMMITTEE ON THE BAN ON FIREARMS AND SECURITY PERSONNEL (CBFSP) FOR THE FEBRUARY 21, 2015 SANGGUNIANG KABATAAN (SK) ELECTIONS
This pertains to the memorandum dated December 10, 2014 of Director Esmeralda Amora-Ladra, Law Department, as forwarded by Deputy Executive Director for Operations Bartolome J. Sinocruz, Jr., relative to the designation of the Chairperson for the Committee on the Ban on Firearms and Security Personnel (CBFSP) for the February 21, 2015 Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) Elections.
The Memorandum of Director Ladra reads:
"Anent the on-going planning and electoral preparatory activities vis-à-vis the limited timetable for the forthcoming February 21, 2015 Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) Elections, respectfully, it is imperative that the respective heads and lead persons of the Election Working Committees (EWCs), be designated, and its members dully constituted, all without further delay.
Please be informed that a consultative meeting with the representatives of the primary election deputized agencies of the government, i.e. the Department of Education (DepEd), the Philippine National Police (PNP) and the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), will be held on December 12, 2014.
Considering that the Law Department, among its other election and non-election duties, is tasked to spearhead the Secretariat and Operations of the Committee on the Ban on Firearms and Security Personnel (CBFSP), we most respectfully requests for information as to whom among Your Honors shall be designated as the Chairperson of the aforementioned EWC. This will enable us to provide the CBFSP Chairperson with a comprehensive brief relative to the gun ban and its operations, as well for us to seek guidance and find proper policy and operational directions as soon as possible.

The Commission RESOLVED, as it hereby RESOLVES, to designate Commissioner Al A. Parreño as Chairperson of the Committee on the Ban on Firearms and Security Personnel (CBFSP) for the February 21, 2015 Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) Elections.
Let a copy of this Resolution be furnished the Office of Commissioner Al A. Parreño and the Law Department
