The Philippine Embassy in Brunei Darussalam opened the Overseas Absentee Voting (OAV) for the 2019 National Elections today at the Chancery at exactly 8:30 a.m.
Mr. Jaime T. Benedicto, 54 years old, cast the first vote. Mr. Benedicto has been working in Brunei Darussalam as a technician for almost seventeen (17) years. “Hindi ako nakaboto noong nakaraang Presidential Elections. Gusto ko ngayon makaboto para maranasan ko din ang pagboto kahit wala ako sa Pilipinas. (I was not able to vote in the last Presidential Elections. Now I want to vote to experience it even if I am not in the Philippines.)”
The Embassy of the Philippines will be open for Overseas Voting starting today, 13 April 2019 until 13 May 2019, including Saturdays and Sundays, from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm. Overseas Voting will also be open on 18 April 2019 (Maundy Thursday), 19 April 2019 (Good Friday) and 01 May 2019 (Labor Day). END
