IN THE MATTER OF THE CONCURRENT RESOLUTION OF BOTH HOUSES OF CONGRESS URGING THE COMELEC TO RESET THE PERIOD FOR FILING OF CERTIFICATE OF CANDIDACY IN CONNECTION WITH THE MAY 13, 2019 NATIONAL AND LOCAL ELECTIONS, FROM OCTOBER 1-5, 2018 TO OCTOBER 11-17, 2018
This pertains to the attached Concurrent Resolution of both Houses of Congress urging the COMELEC to Reset the Period for Filling of Certificates of Candidacy in connection with the May 13, 2019 National and Local Elections, form October 1-5, 2018 to October 11-17, 2018, transmitted to this Commission by Atty. Myra Marie D. Villarica, Senate Secretary.
Finding the reasons for the request of both Houses to be in order and reasonable, the Commission RESOLVED, as it hereby RESOLVES, to move the period for the filing of Certificate of Candidacy in connection with the May 13, 2019 National and Local Elections, from October 1-5, 2018 to October 11-17, 2018 excluding October 13, 2018 (Saturday) and October 14, 2018 (Sunday), and shall only be from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. These periods are non-extendible.
Let the PMO Head, 2019 NLE implement this Resolution, and the Education and Information Department to give this Resolution the widest dissemination possible.
