National Canvassing For Senators and Party-List Groups for the May 9, 2016 National, Local and ARMM Elections

Pursuant to Section 27 of Republic Act No. 8436, as amended by Section 22 of Republic Act No. 9369, the canvassing of election results for senatorial and party-list candidates is carried out by the Chairman and Members of the Commission on Elections sitting en banc as the National Board of Canvassers (NBOC).

The results are canvassed by consolidating the certificates of canvass electronically transmitted. After that, the NBOC proclaims the winning candidates for senators and party-list representatives.

The Commission has promulgated the following rules to govern the conduct of this canvassing:
